The World Alzheimer Report 2023 published by Alzheimer’s Disease International, Reducing Dementia Risk: NEVER TOO EARLY.  NEVER TOO LATE, examined both modifiable as well as non-modifiable risk factors as well as the benefits of lifelong learning.  Some key recommendations in the report included:

  • Risk reduction remains the most feasible and proactive way to combat dementia.  Brain health begins at a young age.

Presenter’s Bio:

Dr. James Meschino DC, MS, ROHP

Dr. Meschino has a master’s degree in nutrition and biology and is an associate professor in the division of biochemistry and physiology at the CMCC in Toronto. He was recently appointed to be the Director of Nutritional Medicine and Longevity for Algernon Pharmaceuticals who are opening over 20 Alzheimer’s Prevention, Screening and Treatment Centres in the US and Canada beginning in 2026.

Studies in recent years have confirmed that targeted nutritional and lifestyle medicine practices can significantly reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and in certain cases has been shown to reverse early-to-moderate stage memory loss.  Dr. Meschino is a leading expert in this area of prevention and the complementary management of dementia and is a keynote speaker at the upcoming Alzheimer’s Conference in Toronto later this fall.

A published author of several books and over 150 research papers, Dr. Meschino has been an educator and active member of the healthcare community for over 40 years.

Currently an associate professor in physiology and biochemistry at the CMCC, Dr. Meschino has instructed sanctioned continuing education seminars on nutritional medicine to fellow healthcare professionals since 1984.

He has continued to develop continuing education and certification programs for professional associations, degree-granting post-secondary institutions, and colleges.

Dr. James has also partnered with Omniscient Wellness in their upcoming book, Natural Beauty Revolution, a fully referenced coffee table manual, on how to Age Intelligently and live your most beautiful and healthy life.
